Mark your calendars for March 18, 2011.  On that day Expect to see 12 great beers on draught, 2 firkin tappings, live music, family fun, and food specials featuring Sweet Briar Farms Berkshire Pig Roast.  Drooling yet?  How about the introduction of 2 new beers?  The first is an Imperial Workhorse IPA in limited edition silk printed 22oz bottle.  And the second will be the debut of Laurelwood’s newest year round organic brew, “The Big O” Pale Ale.  Both beers promise to show the range of Larelwood’s brewing skills.

After doing the math, you will realize that Laurelwood was founded in March 2001.  Mike De Kalb and Kathy Woo-De Kalb started the brewery with a 7-barrel system with a focus on local organic ingredients, and creating a sustainable business.  Laurelwood is Oregon’s first certified organic brewery, and all their craft beers are made with Pacific NW organic malt as well as regionally sourced hops.  Their beers have won many awards from the World Beer Cup and the Great American Beer Festival.  Laurelwood now has a 15-barrel system and 5 pubs including two at the Portland Airport.

The celebration is at their Sandy headquarters at 5115 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland OR, from 5pm to 11pm on Friday March 18th, 2011.  Taplister is sponsoring the event and we hope to see you there.
