Furthermore vertical smallerFurthermore Beer, based in Spring Green, WI, is making the long awaited move into the Chicago beer market. Open since late 2005, until now Furthermore has only been available in their home state of Wisconsin, neighboring Minnesota and Pennsylvania, where head brewer Aran Madden grew up. According to Furthermore, they’ll be “a proverbial small fish in a big pond” and will be starting out with draft only offerings of two of their most popular brews – Fatty Boombalatty and Knot Stock.

Furthermore offers a mix of traditional and non-traditional styles with their line up of three year-round beers and four seasonal beers. Two of their non-traditional beers are year-round Knot Stock, “a most particular pale” that uses fresh cracked pepper and seasonal Oscura, a warm-fermented, cold-lagered beer with Nicaragua whole coffee beans from La Fem Grower’s Co-operative that are soaked in the beer during cold maturation.

The launch party will take place at the High Dive and to sweeten the pot Furthermore will be bringing a few kegs of Makeweight, “a triple pale mash-up,” as well.
