Rye Beer FestA newcomer to the busy Portland, Ore. beer festival scene last year, Rye Beer Fest returns during Portland Beer Week in June with more beer offerings and a new venue. The festival, presented by Taplister.com, is not just a showcase of rye beers but also a fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Cancer Association.

Attendees can expect to find 20 rye beers that run the gamut of styles, from breweries in Oregon and beyond. Two of the beers are special collaborations that Taplister CEO Kerry Finsand had a hand in helping to brew. One is being brewed by 10 Barrel Brewing Company, a small batch brewery out of Bend, Ore. and the other by Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB), a 100% renewably powered, “cradle to gate” carbon neutral brewery in the heart of SE Portland, Ore. In addition to rye beers, there will also be rye cocktails and rye food.

Entry to the event is free and unlike many festivals where sample sizes are the norm, beers will be available in both full and half pints. All proceeds from the sale of the two collaboration beers will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Association.

Rye Beer Fest
Friday, June 7th, 4:00pm – 2:00 a.m.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is required to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty
penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% certain.
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
